Training Information
| As
part of the SYFIT Project, the Trainee Technicians will participate
in training, both internally & externally. As each trainee
has different aims & requirements, depending on which career
path they wish to follow, each member has a training programme
that is individually tailored to suit them. Participants in the
SYFIT Project combine both academic study and practical hands-on
training.
Internal training combines both practical work and involvement in internal short courses within the University, e.g. there are short courses available on Web Design. External training involves practical courses and also academic study in programmes such as the HNC in Computing, at Dearne Valley College. Additionally some trainees participate in the CISCO Certified Network Associate Programme (CCNA), which is beneficial to participating trainees. The CCNA course curriculum centres on teaching students to design, build and maintain computer networks. |
