Peter Lawlor
Hello there!
My name is Peter Lawlor and I am 19 years old, I live in a little village called Cudworth, in Barnsley. I live with my mum and have a brother who is currently 31.
I was interested in computers since I first touched one in Birkwood School (Primary School) in Cudworth, I moved there when I was 8. When I moved onto Willowgarth High School (Secondary School), they had boring apple/mac’s. 3 to 4 years later, Willowgarth had new computer rooms with Top-of-the-Spec PC’s and I was very interested, so I did my GNVQ in Information and Communications Technology. Whilst at Willowgarth, I did a 8 day course with the Barnsley College, Basic Computer Programming (QBasic), and also did Work Experience at ABI Electronics Ltd, which I had duties such as putting in little micro-processors and resistors etc into PCB’s and soldering.
After school, I went to Roger Worth Training in Barnsley. Whilst there, I was on the reception, doing general Administration duties.
The trainee co-ordinator, and the other trainees always asked me to help them with computer work and/or help them with hardware problems, so this as gave me confidence of helping other people. I was doing an NVQ Level 2 in Administration, but I didn’t complete it. But since I was there, I did two courses CLAIT (Computer Literate and Information Technology) and IBT2 (Integrated Business Technology 2).
I have applied for SYFIT Trainee ICT Technician, because it will help me to gain more experience and gain a qualification and such and also help me to get a career in ICT and networking.
I have various interests, which include:
Building PC’s, computer games, making web sites, fishing, football, bike riding, going out, meeting people, weight lifting and also listening to music and my tastes are rap, r’n’b, hardcore, dance, etc.
I am currently doing a ECDL (European Computer Driving License) Course with Learndirect online,
